Artists sought for sewing challenge
The Tuscarawas County Main Library is seeking area artists to participate in its Scrap Fabric Sewing Challenge.
“The library will provide a mystery bag of sewing supplies, and participants will provide the art,” public service associate Erin Snider said.
Professional and amateur artists of all ages are encouraged to participate in this contest.
Participants can stop by the Tuscarawas County Main Library starting Sept. 16 to pick up their mystery bag. Mystery bags are available on a first come, first served basis.
“They can use the mystery bag to design anything they wish,” Snider said. “Participants should bring their creations back to the library by Oct. 31 at 5 p.m., and we will display them at the library during the month of November.”
Snider said community members will vote for their favorite piece Nov. 1-9, with winners announced in mid-November.
The Tuscarawas County Main Library is located at 121 Fair Ave. NW in New Philadelphia. Visit the library’s online event calendar at www.tusclibrary.org or call 330-364-4474.
