Ballet Wooster to present ‘The Nutcracker’

Ballet Wooster will present “The Nutcracker” on Saturday, Dec. 7 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 8 at 2 p.m. at the Wooster High School Performing Arts Center.

Over 90 Ballet Wooster performers and guest artists age 5 to over 60 will take the stage in this production. Complemented by costumes and sets including a massive growing tree and falling snow, Ballet Wooster’s “The Nutcracker” has become a holiday staple for families of all ages.

Featured roles include professional guest artist Ethan Ralston as the Nutcracker Prince and Advanced Company Dancers Lizzie Meyer as Clara, Isabel Smith as Snow Queen, Neena Shell as Mouse Queen and Chloe Gettles as Guardian Angel.

With choreography by co-artistic directors Brenda Schwinn and Stephanie Sustar and guest choreographer Veronica Kotulak, Ballet Wooster’s interpretation of “The Nutcracker” is unique yet traditional. This year also celebrates Schwinn’s 15th biennial “Nutcracker” production.

Tickets are $14 for adults and $10 for children, students and senior citizens and can be purchased online at www.balletwooster.org or at the door.

Ballet Wooster is a nonprofit, preprofessional ballet school and youth company. Its mission is to promote and inspire the community to be more involved in the arts through noncompetitive dance education and quality performances that develop an appreciation of dance and the performing arts.
