The Wooster Chamber Music Series will open its season with a performance by the Borromeo String Quartet in Gault Recital Hall at The College of Wooster’s Scheide Music Center, 525 E. University St., on Feb. 2 at 3 p.m.

Inspiring audiences for 35 years, the Borromeo has been the ensemble-in-residence at New England Conservatory for over three decades and at the Taos School of Music since 2005. The Borromeo also serves as quartet-in-residence at the Heifetz International Music Institute, where first violinist Nicholas Kitchen is artistic director. The award-winning quartet performs internationally and has been featured at many festivals and residencies.

The program will feature “String Quartet No. 20 in D Major, K. 499” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, “Dig the Say” by Vijay Iyer, and “String Quartet in D Minor, D. 810, ‘Death and the Maiden’” by Franz Schubert.

The Wooster Chamber Music Series, established in 1986, presents chamber music ensembles with a 290-seat concert hall. Tickets are $25 and are available at the door. Middle, high school and college students are admitted for free.
