The Dominic Greco Band will perform two concerts this month as they continue their 2019 summer season.

The first concert will take place on Saturday, June 15 at 7 p.m. at the Tuscora Park Amphitheater as part of the Pepsi RTY Summer Showcase. The second concert will be at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 20 at the Deis Hill Band Shell, a part of the Dover Lions Club Concert Series. The theme for both concerts is “The Sky Is Not the Limit” and will feature songs that relate to air and space.

Special numbers include “One Giant Leap,” a piece that depicts the series of events leading up to Neil Armstrong landing on the moon in 1969. The band also will perform “Purple Twilight,” a song honoring the crew of the space shuttle, Challenger, who lost their lives on Jan. 28, 1986.

The concerts also will include vocal numbers featuring two members of the group. Dominic Greco Band trombonist Dave Hayman will sing “Come Fly with Me” by Frank Sinatra, and Ron Barkett will sing “Ghost Riders in the Sky.”

The Dominic Greco Band, celebrating 102 years of music in the valley, is under the direction of Brian Botdorf, Cheryl Graham and April Linard.
