The Little Theatre of Tuscarawas County will hold its annual membership meeting in a Zoom format on Sunday, Sept. 13 at 1:30 p.m. According to membership chair Machelle Miller, even those who do not have internet/WiFi can still attend the meeting by phone at 1-301-715-8592 with the meeting ID: 614-554-8936. For those with internet, the link to the meeting on the theater webpage is

The annual meeting is open to everyone, but only paid members and marquee members in attendance at the meeting will be able to vote. There are two ways to pay for a membership for the 2020-21 year. First, complete a membership form and mail it with a check for the $15 membership fee to The Little Theatre, P.O. Box 53, New Philadelphia, OH 44663.

All members should have received a form in the mail. Anyone who hasn’t should email Miller at

The second way to pay is to use a credit card via the PayPal membership link on the theater website. Online payments will be accepted until the start of the meeting in order to be considered paid for voting. Checks must be received at the New Philadelphia Post Office by Saturday, Sept. 12 in order to allow a vote. Only those present at the Zoom meeting who are paid for the coming season will be permitted to vote.

Nominations for anyone interested in running for the board of trustees will be open until Wednesday, Sept. 9. Responsibilities include but are not limited to serving a term of three consecutive years, attending one meeting per month, producing one show per season as needed, input and voting on issues brought to the board pertaining to the theater, and attendance at any emergency meetings that may be called by the president of the board.

Board members will be elected electronically at the annual membership meeting. Nominations also will be accepted from the floor. Miller said the votes will be counted by an officer, a board member and a random member. If elected to the board, members are unable to direct any shows at Little Theatre during their term. Those interested in running for the board are asked to email secretary Kait Gallagher-Wilsterman at or the theater at

The theater will not offer The Patron Program for the 2020-21 season because it is an extension of the current season. Those who purchased Patron Packages will be recognized in the programs of the three remaining shows, and any flex tickets that remain on their patronage will be honored.

Miller said, “The pandemic has been hard on everyone, and the Little Theatre is included in this hardship. No shows equal no income, and no Patron Program just adds to the hardship of staying afloat until we can once again open our doors. We have included a one-time donation form with this mailing. If you would like to help in this way, please complete the form and return it and your check by mail. There is also an option on the donation form to request an invoice to pay by credit card through PayPal.”

Miller said at this time there are no shows scheduled prior to the April opening of “The Diary of Anne Frank.”

“If for some reason a vaccine is available and the restrictions are lifted, we will consider adding a show in the January to March 2021 time frame, but that is very unlikely to happen,” Miller said.

The final three shows of the 2020-21 season are scheduled as follows: “The Diary of Anne Frank” on April 9, 10, 11, 16, 17, 18, 23, 24 and 25; “The Little Mermaid” on July 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, 16, 17 and 18; and “Almost Maine” on Aug. 19, 20, 21, 22, 26, 27, 28 and 29.
