Wayne Center for the Arts will hold its annual Fall Festival on Oct. 5 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the WCA, 237 S. Walnut St., Wooster. The event will have music and family fun, both inside and outside.

“Our Fall Festival is a wonderful way for families to experience our thriving arts community and explore all Wayne Center for the Arts has to offer,” Executive Director Sara Starr Brink said. “This year we’re excited to showcase even more live music, interactive experiences and unique art activities that everyone can enjoy.”

Outdoors, there will be 15 artisan vendors showcasing handmade goods, food trucks, a bounce house for kids and art demonstrations. Local guitarist Josh Sheets will kick off the musical performances at 11 a.m.

At 1 p.m. Zydeco band Mo’ Mojo will perform. Mo’ Mojo blends Zydeco, Cajun and Louisiana-spiced rock ‘n’ roll. Guests are welcome to bring a Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area drink to the performance. Live music is supported by the Ohio Arts Council through the ArtsNEXT grant program.

Community activities with local friends and neighbors including Local Roots and Flex Yoga also will happen throughout the day.

Inside, visitors can warm up with fall drinks from Boo Bears Brew in the auditorium. Wayne Center Dance will present a sneak peek of “The Nutcracker” at 11 a.m. Additional activities will include a live art game show called Creative Conundrum happening throughout the event. This show will feature local celebrities as they tackle creative challenges using unusual prompts.

Additionally, two art exhibits will open that day:

—“The Halloween Show” in the Gault Gallery: a celebration of all things creepy, dark, macabre and hauntingly beautiful.

—The “6x6 Show” in the Looney Workshop: a fundraiser featuring hundreds of 6-by-6-inch artworks by local artists, designers and community members. With each piece priced at $20, it’s an opportunity to support local art while also benefiting WCA students who qualify for financial aid.

“This is such a fun, free event,” Brink said. “Bring the family and spend a fantastic day creating, exploring and enjoying art in all its forms.”

The Fall Festival is supported by WCA partners: Bogner Construction Company; Caret Film Company; Critchfield, Critchfield & Johnston; United Titanium; Jarrett Logistics; Briggs & Starr Wealth Management; McClintock Electric; Seaman Corporation; BellStores; Buckeye Oil Producing Company; The Commercial & Savings Bank; Main Street Bank; Weaver Custom Homes; and Western Reserve Group.
