Mt. Eaton getting ready for big spring sale
The day promises sales in all the participating stores in the village. The Mt. Eaton Spring Sale for 2019 is scheduled for Thursday, April 4 with most stores staying open until 7 p.m.
Following up on a successful landmark 10th annual sale event last year, Mt. Eaton is in full gear preparing for the 11th annual Mt. Eaton Spring Sale, presented by The Mt. Eaton Business Association.
The day promises sales in all the participating stores in the village. The Mt. Eaton Spring Sale for 2019 is scheduled for Thursday, April 4 with most stores staying open until 7 p.m. Some stores will extend the sales event through the remainder of the weekend.
“The big thing is always the drawing for Mt. Eaton Bucks,” John Miller at Mt. Eaton Hardware said. “There are about 10 stores or businesses participating in the one-day sale. We’ll have 10-percent discounts here, and I know the other stores are offering special prices too.”
Dave Hershberger, owner at Precision Power Equipment, one of the chief participants in Mt. Eaton Business Association Spring Sale, said Byler’s Barbecue will serve up sandwiches and sides for much of the midday and afternoon in the village.
“Many of the participating businesses all have free doughnuts and coffee and popcorn through the day, so there’s plenty to eat if you get hungry. The drawing for Mt. Eaton Bucks happens at the end of the day. While the sale is going on that Thursday, you get a ticket for every $20 you spend at participating businesses,” Hershberger said. “Then we’ll draw winners for two $100 gift certificates, two $75 certificates, two worth $50 and two gift certificates worth $25, for a total of $500 we’re giving away as part of the Mt. Eaton Spring Sale.”
The drawing will get underway at Mt. Eaton Hardware at 7:30 p.m.
The gift certificates are redeemable to Mt. Eaton participating businesses. Though some stores may remain open with special discounts through the weekend, the Mt. Eaton Bucks promotion is going on Thursday only.
“The Spring Sale is always very popular,” Hershberger said. “We always see hundreds of people come out for it.”
Miller agreed. “The Spring Sale is one of the biggest events in town.”
“People are preparing for the spring season,” Hershberger said. “So the Mt. Eaton Spring Sale is a good time to come out and stock up.”
The event supports local merchants and keeps money flowing through the local economy, a key goal of the Mt. Eaton Business Association.
Through its 11-year history, the sale event has grown to include more and bigger participants, becoming a full-fledged area attraction sure to find many people walking the streets of the village.
