Wooster Brush finalizes details on local expansion

This is a rendering of what the new Wooster Brush manufacturing, warehousing and distribution facility will look like. Groundbreaking for the project, located on Daisy Way on the city's northeast side, will be Oct. 20.

                        

In a partnership with Freeman Building Systems, The Wooster Brush Company will break ground on an additional manufacturing, warehousing and distribution facility on Oct. 20.

The new facility will be the largest expansion in the company’s 170-year history. Notable details about this expansion include the following:

—Address is 2550 Daisy Way, Wooster, in Wooster’s innovation park.

—Site will be built on newly acquired 44-acre plot of land.

—Building dimensions are 676 feet wide by 900 feet long (608,400 square feet).

—Will be staffed by up to 60-70 full-time employees.

—Plans allow for additional expansions up to 200,000 square feet.

—Largest single building ever to be built within the city of Wooster.

—Being built by the oldest company in Wooster.

—Completion date is December 2022.

“We’re excited to grow in Wooster," Wooster Brush President Ben Maibach said. "We’re even more excited that our growth will benefit the city where we were founded 170 years ago. We appreciate so much to be a part of this great community.”

A formal groundbreaking ceremony will take place at the site on Oct. 20 at a time to be determined.
