Dr. Don DeYoung

One of the United States’ most respected Christian astronomers, Dr. Don DeYoung will be at the Bible and Science Conference Sept. 17-18, hosted by the Orrville Grace Brethren Church.

DeYoung will teach on the creation week, the global flood and on current events in the Bible and science. On Saturday, Sept. 17 at 7 p.m., DeYoung will do a scientific walk through creation week with activities about light, water, birds and other wonders of God’s creation. This is a kid-friendly event designed for all ages.

On Sunday, Sept. 18 at 9:30 a.m., DeYoung will give a message on the entire flood event and include descriptions of the ark, sources of the flood waters, and the geological evidence and importance of the flood. At 11 a.m. he will discuss current events in science that connect with what’s written in the Bible. After lunch there will be a Q-and-A time that will cover dinosaurs, carbon-14 dating, age of the earth and intelligent design.

DeYoung, Ph.D. in physics and M.Div., is a creation scientist and educator specializing in astronomy and physics. He chairs the department of science and mathematics at Grace College in Winona Lake, Indiana and has taught there since 1972.

DeYoung is on the board of the Creation Research Society with over 1,700 members worldwide. He gives lectures on many creation topics including astronomy, intelligent design, the Genesis flood and dinosaurs. He strongly believes the details in nature definitively point to the Creator and his love for mankind. He also writes and speaks for the organization, Answers in Genesis.

DeYoung has written 17 books including several books designed for children and many articles on creation topics.

All are welcome to come and hear DeYoung explain how the Bible and science fit together. For information visit and click the Bible & Science Conference link under Events & Programs or call 330-683-3526.
