Shreve UMC holding Blue Christmas Dec. 17
A Blue Christmas service, hosted by the Shreve United Methodist Church on Thursday, Dec. 17 from 7-8 p.m., is for those who are carrying pain or loss during this season of celebration.
For those experiencing loss, the Christmas season may not feel like the most wonderful time of year.
A Blue Christmas service, hosted by the Shreve United Methodist Church on Thursday, Dec. 17 from 7-8 p.m., is a service for those who are carrying pain or loss during this season of celebration.
The service offers a message about God’s love, a time of reflection and a candle-lighting ceremony.
The service is being planned by those from the church involved in GriefShare, but it is not affiliated with GriefShare.
SUMC also will host a 13-week GriefShare program beginning Jan. 7 and continuing each Thursday through April 8 from 7-8:30 p.m. Topics will help and encourage those who have lost a family member or friend.
