St. Joseph Catholic Church presents Lessons and Carols
Twelve choirs will combine to present the 14th annual Lessons and Carols concert at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Sunday, Dec. 8. Prelude music by Dover First Moravian Bell Choir will begin at 5:30 p.m., with the ecumenical service beginning at 6 p.m.
Along with the bell choir, performances by Dover churches will be presented by St. John’s United Church of Christ, Grace Lutheran, First United Methodist and St. Joseph’s four choirs, as well as the Parish, Guadalupe, and Youth and Singing Saints of Tuscarawas Central Catholic Elementary School.
Others participating include the Alliance Brass Ensemble, Legacy Christian School and Sacred Heart Church in New Philadelphia.
St. Joseph Music Director Jeremia Jones said the service presents Scripture readings with choral and hymn responses and traditional Advent and Christmas music.
“Lessons and Carols has become a popular holiday tradition,” he said, “so the sanctuary is usually full to capacity.”
The concert is free to the public.
St. Joseph Church is located at 613 N. Tuscarawas Ave. in Dover.
