Happy Harvesters 4-H Club shares fair news

The Happy Harvesters 4-H Club of Strasburg participated in the Tuscarawas County Fair.
Sunday night kicked off with Makayla Reiger competing in the fair king and queen contest. Reiger and Wyema Porter both received their plaques.
Member participation is as follows:
—Maty Boylan, breeding rabbit, third in class.
—Claire Haswell, Pygmy goat.
—Grace Haswell, Pygmy goat, fourth in class.
—Cole Himes, market hog, third in class; market steer, fourth in class; and bred and born steer, third in class.
—Wyema Porter, market ducks.
—Haley Wisselgren, open class Jersey, first in class; junior fair Jersey, first in class; and market hog, first in class and fourth in division.
—Jacob Wisselgren, open class Jersey, third in class; junior fair Jersey, second in class; and market hog, sixth in class.
—Peyton Vickers, open class Guernsey, second in class; junior fair Guernsey, second in class; junior fair all other breeds, Dutch Belted, first in class; and dairy showmanship junior division, fifth in class.
Vickers also entered exhibits in the grange categories, taking first place with her apron and second place with her crocheted potholder.
Cloverbuds made a mobile garden to display and got third place. Many members competed in showmanship. Evan Wisselgren showed a dairy heifer and market hog, and Lexi Himes showed a market hog in kiddie showmanship.
Four members worked with the junior fair board for the week.
Each year the club is required to do a 4-H booth for the fair. This year the club voted unanimously to do a tribute to the Garber family with the theme being “The Happy Harvesters 4-Hers Stand with the Garbers … Giving All the Glory to God.”
