Nashville Jolly Farmers 4-H kicks off a busy year
The Nashville Jolly Farmers met at Nashville Methodist Church.
The pledges were led by Quinn Roach and Melanda Vaughn. Officers were elected during the meeting, with Malia Lennington chosen as president.
Other officers included: Delanie Vaughn, vice president; Delanie Pringle, secretary; Gabby Mendoza, treasurer; Kailyn Root, news reporter; JJ Roberts, safety leader; and Quinn Roach, health leader.
The club voted to sell flowers again this year as a fundraiser and discussed two additional projects to serve as community service efforts.
April 1 was the deadline for club enrollment, and April 15 was the deadline for essay contest entries.
At the April 10 meeting, held at Nashville Global Methodist Church, the club chose “waterpark” as the theme for its county fair booth. Members also discussed club T-shirts and decided the shirts would match the fair booth theme.
The club collected flower orders that will help raise money. Demonstrations were given by several members: Tristan Houin on safety gear for welding, Kannon Roberts on how to shoot a basketball, Collins Taylor on making a slushy in a bag, and Leighton Roberts on how to make bouncy bubbles.
A total of 32 members attended the meeting.
The next meeting will be held at 7 p.m. April 21 at Nashville Global Methodist Church.
