On June 25, TOPS OH 1573 Nashville opened with pledges.

Mabel Leid was the best weekly and monthly loser. She said to drink plenty of water and stay inside when it is extremely hot.

Gaye Keller gave the program from an article in The Bargain Hunter titled “From the field to the fridge: Fueling life the natural way.” June is National Dairy Month. Calcium is a major mineral the body uses as fuel. It is found most easily in milk. An 8-ounce glass of milk has about 300 milligrams of calcium. Other sources of calcium are a cup of yogurt, 1 ounce of cheese and half a cup of broccoli. Low calcium contributes to reduced bone density, early bone loss and an increased risk of fractures.

The club meets at the Nashville Global Methodist Church on Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m., with weigh-in at 5 p.m. The first meeting is free.
