Several Buckeye Career Center employees were honored at the year-end employee recognition breakfast on Wednesday, May 30 for perfect attendance, first-year survival, years of service and retirement during the 2017-18 school year. The event was presented by Superintendent Bob Alsept.

Employees receiving perfect attendance for the 2017-18 school year include Holly Baburek (culinary arts aide), Sharon Burdette (floral design), Jeremy Burdick (electrical systems technology), Mark Gibson (math), Ryan Irwin (energy operations), Jeff Newsome (auto collision repair), Brad Pfeiffer (ag and diesel technology), Kelly Ricklic (maintenance supervisor), Jennifer Robinson (guidance counselor), Chris Rufenacht (commercial truck), Tiffany Stanley (family consumer science at Garaway) and Phyllis Willison (cafeteria director).

Employees receiving first-year survival awards include Julie Beaber (high school secretary), Jeff Blakley (ag and diesel at Hiland), Matt Fockler (high school principal), Emily Frantz (English/language arts), Mark Gibson (math), Brandon Irwin (energy operations), Laramie Kimble (high school secretary), Matt McGraw (HVAC-R), Randall Patrick (welding) and Daphne Reichman (cafeteria).

Employees honored for 10 years of service include Paula Carter (maintenance), Jeff Newsome (auto collision repair), Alisha Numbers (math), Tim Walter (maintenance), Doug Young (social studies) and Megan Zimmerman (adult education student services coordinator).

Employees honored for 20 years of service include John Barr (testing coordinator), Molly Mann (math), Chris McCoury (pharmacy technician) and Joyce Large (adult education secretary).

Employees honored for 25 years of service include Susan Hudson (family consumer science at Dover), Tim Northrop (construction technology) and Rick Strimbu (CT electives).

A 30-year service award was given to Todd Bonvechio (masonry).

Employees retiring during or at the conclusion of the 2017-18 school year include Brad Fisher (automotive technology), Susan Hudson (family consumer science at Dover), Fritz Johnson (career-based intervention), Chris Little (intervention specialist), Dale Swaldo (maintenance) and Vickie Swaldo (adult education secretary).
