BCC seeking nominations for Alumni of the Year
The Buckeye Career Center Foundation, which annually awards scholarships to graduating BCC students, is seeking nominations for the 2025 Alumni of the Year.
The foundation honors two former BCC students at its annual ceremony, along with recognizing a small business and large business of the year. Typically, nominations are accepted from Buckeye Career Center staff members, but the foundation has decided to broaden the application pool by allowing community members to nominate. The deadline to nominate is March 1.
Alumni of the Year nominees should be a graduate of Buckeye Career Center or Buckeye Joint Vocational. The submission also should explain why you feel this person deserves the award.
Nominations can be submitted by emailing buckeyefoundation@gmail.com or by completing the nomination form on the foundation’s website at www.buckeyecareercenterfoundation.org.
In 2024 the Buckeye Foundation awarded $2,500 scholarships to 35 BCC seniors, representing 18 BCC labs and 13 school districts. The Alumni of Year awards went to Kayla Blake, a 2015 teaching professions alumna, and Roxanne Dunn, a 2006 intro to nursing alumna.
The Buckeye Foundation accepts donations year round toward the scholarships and will honor the 2025 winners on May 7 at BCC.
Anyone interested in contributing to the Buckeye Foundation for future scholarships can mail their donation to Buckeye Career Center Foundation, P.O. Box 355, New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
To date, the Buckeye Foundation has awarded over $966,200 in scholarships to 473 students since its inception in 1998.
