Buckeye Career Center’s East Holmes campus will open its doors to the public for an open house, ahead of the beginning of the new school year on Tuesday, Aug. 13 from 5-8 p.m. at the campus near Berlin. The East Holmes campus offers two programs including the Buckeye Business Academy and the Buckeye Construction Program.

Students enrolled in the business academy learn keyboarding, office filing, graphic design and accounting and participate in the career-technical student organization, Business Professionals of America. The business program has been in place for 27 years and is taught by Amy Stauffer-McNutt.

Students in the construction program learn carpentry skills, framing, varnishing/painting techniques and custom furniture building. Construction students are instructed by Jamie Garber.

Community members, alumni, and prospective students and their families are invited to attend and learn more about the two programs, tour the facilities, and meet the instructors.

Interested students also can apply to attend classes for the 2019-20 school year. Light refreshments will be served, and no registration is required.

The campus is located at 4363 state Route 39 in Millersburg. The campus shares a drive with ‘Tis the Season and is directly across the street from Hiland High School near Berlin.
