Buckeye Career Center is inviting prospective students, current students, families, alumni, past staff and community members to the school’s annual spring open house on Wednesday, April 17 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Buckeye Career Center in New Philadelphia.

Visitors will have the chance to tour the building and explore over 30 high school programs offered at BCC for the 2019-20 school year. Attendees can meet instructors and academic teachers and view classrooms and program labs. Adult education staff also will have information available for those interested in enrolling in full-time 2019-20 adult courses or part-time options.

Superintendent Bob Alsept said he hopes open house attendees will gain a better understanding of what Buckeye Career Center has to offer area students from Tuscarawas, Carroll, Holmes and surrounding counties.

“Our students come to learn skills but leave with solid relationships that will help them throughout their lives,” Alsept said.

Attendees will be offered a complimentary meal, and students who apply for next school year, while attending the open house, will receive a gift. Incoming students who have already been accepted will receive their new student T-shirt.

Alumni will be treated to a reception in the Joe Carlisle Café. Light refreshments will be served, and each alumnus will receive a complimentary gift. The Buckeye Pride Shop also will be open to purchase BCC apparel and alumni gear.

According to Alsept, Buckeye alumni play an important role in the school’s success. “Their efforts have helped transform Buckeye Career Center from a school into a community gem, and we want to celebrate that.”

The open house is free. Advanced registration is not required, but guests are asked to enter at the main entrance and sign in at the cafeteria. Students who bring their invitation to the open house will be entered to win a door prize.

Buckeye Career Center is located at 545 University Drive NE in New Philadelphia.
