EH BOE sets date for organizational meeting
                        

The East Holmes Local Schools Board of Education met Friday, Nov. 15 at the central office for a regular meeting.

The board did the following during the meeting:

—Recognized the following WKLM Student of the Week recipients: Zane Rossetti, Oct. 21-25; Meredith Stockwell, Oct. 28 through Nov. 1; Cooper Sprang, Nov. 4-8; and Grace Yoder, Nov. 11-15.

—Approved an agreement with Hammond Construction Inc. for construction management services related to the East Holmes classroom refresh project as outlined in the agreement and exhibits.

—Approved a maintenance agreement with the Holmes County engineer through funding from the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Safe Routes to School program to construct and maintain a sidewalk at Winesburg Elementary.

—Approved a services reimbursement agreement with Buckeye Career Center for services provided in 2023-24.

—Set the EH BOE’s 2025 organizational meeting to take place Friday, Jan. 10 at 7:30 a.m. at the central office. A tax budget hearing will immediately follow the organizational meeting with the regular January board meeting taking place after the hearing.

—Approved the resignation of Michael Wells, bus driver, effective Jan. 5, 2025.

—Approved all substitute personnel hired by East Holmes Local Schools and the Tri-County Educational Service Center for the 2024-25 school year.

—Approved an increase in the contract of Kassidy Stottlemire, kindergarten at Flat Ridge, retroactive to Nov. 11.

—Approved the transfer of April Rose from classroom aide to evening custodian at Berlin, retroactive to Oct. 28.

—Approved the following placements on the certified salary schedule, effective Feb. 1, 2025: Kirsten Halfhill to Masters, Miranda McCullough to Masters and Shannon Olsen to Masters.

—Approved $500 stipends for 18 staff members for participating in LETRS professional development outside the normal workday.

—Approved stipends in various amounts of money for 28 teachers who have completed Ohio’s Science of Reading required professional development. The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce has committed to reimbursing the stipend amounts for each teacher.

The next board meeting is scheduled for Dec. 20 at the central office.
