Spelling bee winners named at Tusky Valley

The winner was seventh-grader Natalie Stokes, and runner-up was eighth-grader Henry Dixon.

                        

Tuscarawas Valley Local Schools 21st spelling bee was held Wednesday, Feb. 7 in the Middle High School Performing Arts Center.

The pronouncer was Jim Range with judges Julie Rotruck, ECOESC; Sheriff Orvis Campbell; and Pastor Aaron Rae from the Bolivar Community Church.

The winner was seventh-grader Natalie Stokes, and runner-up was eighth-grader Henry Dixon.

Stokes’ winning word in the 10th round was Vaseline.

Students will compete at the regional final bee sponsored by the Canton Repository on Saturday, March 2 at the Kent State Stark campus.
