The preschool and pre-k students at Immaculate Conception School invited their dads or male role models to spend the afternoon at school.

The children sent invitations to their dad or special male role model, they drew pictures of them, answered questions about them and made them a tie to wear when they arrived.

A picture was taken to remember the day, the book "Daddy's Song" was read and the children sang the song, "I Can Count on You," before making a craft.

The children used real hammers and nails to build a birdhouse together. When students and their dads finished making the birdhouses, they had popcorn and a juice snack.

"It is a great way to see the children and their dads or male role models interact and share some special time together," teacher Ronna Conventry said.

The theme for the day was "You + Me = We."
