Imagine your life as a Zip by attending an upcoming Campus Visit Day at the Wayne College campus on Monday, Nov. 1 at 6 p.m. in the Student Life Building. Located at 1901 Smucker Rd. in Orrville, the Campus Visit Day includes a campus tour, along with information about course offerings, the admissions process, scholarship opportunities and financial aid.

Course offerings will include information about the bachelor’s degrees offered at the Wayne Campus. Programs include the Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing, the Bachelor of Primary Inclusive Teacher Preparation (PITP), the Bachelor of Science in Nursing, the Bachelor of Social Work, and the Bachelor of Strategic and Organizational Communication. These programs can be completed on the Wayne Campus, allowing students to earn a bachelor’s degree close to home. RSVP for the Campus Visit Day at bit.ly/fall2021visit.

Additionally, if you’re ready to take the next step and complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), consider registering for a FAFSA workshop where representatives will be available to help navigate the process. The FAFSA is the free federal application required to receive federal financial aid, including the Federal Pell Grant and student loans as well as need-based state grants. Studies show that a student is 50% more likely to attend college when they complete the FAFSA.

FAFSA workshops will be held in the Main Classroom Building on the Wayne Campus on Wednesday, Oct. 27; Wednesday, Nov. 10; and Tuesday, Nov. 30 from 5:30-8 p.m.

“Filing out the FAFSA is important whether you believe you will qualify for financial aid or not,” said April Blood, student services counselor. “There are even some scholarships which require students to file a FAFSA. Therefore, we encourage everyone to apply and be eligible for every opportunity possible.”

Registration is encouraged by calling 330.684.8900 or emailing waynessc@uakron.edu. Items to bring include a photo ID, social security number, 2020 W2 forms and other records of money earned, 2020 federal income tax return, parents' federal income tax return if a dependent, 2020 untaxed income records, current bank statements, and investment records.

The priority deadline for completing the FAFSA for the Wayne Campus is Dec. 1. The priority deadline for admission and scholarships at the Wayne Campus is March 1, 2022.
