The Wayne County Schools Career Center will offer a second chance to explore its 27 career and technical programs this year. The open house will be held by appointment only on Feb. 16 and 18. With trades in agriculture, construction, healthcare, manufacturing/engineering, mechanics, public service and technology, there is something for everyone.

Open-house time slots are available by appointment only from 4:30-6:30 p.m. on either date for high school sophomores and their parents. Junior students wishing to visit RAMTEC programs may schedule in-person visits on Feb. 18. Appointments may be scheduled by calling 330-669-7000 ext. 1021 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday or by visiting www.wcscc.org and clicking on the open house slider for the sign-up link. Time slots are on a first come, first served basis.

Trades open on Tuesday, Feb. 16 include agribusiness and production, animal science, cosmetology, criminal justice, culinary arts, dental assisting, early childhood education and care, engineering technologies (at Orrville High School), exercise science and sports medicine, hospitality, medical assisting, patient care technologies, and practical nursing.

Trades open on Thursday, Feb. 18 include ag mechanics/power technologies, automotive technologies, buildings and grounds, business, construction technologies, diesel technologies, electronics and computer networking, graphic design and photography, interactive media, machining technologies, powerline technologies, welding technologies, RAMTEC — CNC and advanced manufacturing, and RAMTEC — robotics and automation.

Limit visitors to the student and two parents/guardians. All in-person visitors will be required to wear masks and observe social distancing guidelines.
