West Holmes FFA enjoys Ohio Leadership Camp
Creating leaders is first and foremost when it comes to Ohio Future Farmers of America.
This summer the West Holmes High School FFA members took a giant step in developing their leadership skills.
From Friday, June 23 through Monday, June 26, fourteen members of the West Holmes FFA chapter attended the Ohio Leadership Camp at FFA Camp Muskingum in Carroll County.
West Holmes FFA members who attended included Maison Carter, Claire Drzazga, Jenna Sheldon, Ava Eberhard, Wyatt Myers, Alex Pringle, Garrett Fowler, Maren Drzazga, Andi Schuch, Brianna Poventud, Emma Eberhard, Hanna Bruce Quentin Vehrs and Jarrett Schafer.
During camp the students were divided into “movie casts” with other schools that were attending. They would eat and participate in games with their “casts.” Throughout the week students attended six sessions of the “I Am” conference, which taught members how to be their best selves. The session topics included Who Am I, Goal Setting, Habits, Determining Your Identity Goals, Balance, and Your Next Steps in Your Identity Goals.
In the students’ free time, they were able to participate in shooting sports and card playing, motor boating, swimming, canoeing, kayaking and other activities. They also got to meet the entire 2023-24 state officer team throughout the days of camp.
The camp also hosted guest speakers from the United States Army who gave a speech and talked about some of the opportunities in the United States Army. Students had a great time on their trip and would like to thank the United States Army for making the camp possible. They also would like to thank camp scholarship donors who allowed students to go.
