Absentee voting will continue in Holmes County for the March 17 primary election.

                        

Absentee voting will continue in Holmes County for the March 17 primary election. Regular polling locations will not be open for the postponed election. To vote by mail, an individual must apply for an absent ballot in writing and submit the request to the county board of elections.

Requests must include voter’s name, residence, address, mailing address (if different) and date of birth; identification, which can be a voter’s Ohio driver’s license or state ID card number, the last four digits of the voter’s Social Security number, or a copy of a utility bill or bank statement; and date of the election (March 17, 2020).

For a primary election one must select a ballot type: Democratic, Libertarian, Republican or Issues Only, as well as include a statement the person requesting the ballot is a qualified elector, a voter’s signature and date.

Use of a specific form is not required; however, a basic form is available at the board website at www.boe.ohio.gov/holmes/.

Applications must be received by noon on April 25. Voted ballots must be postmarked by April 27.
