Area standouts named all-district
West Holmes senior Ella McMillen was named East District Player of the Year in Div. II.
The East District released its all-district boys and girls basketball teams, and several locals were named to the teams.
Boys
In Div. II, West Holmes’ Mason Wolfe, Zander Shultz and Zevin Proper were all selected to the special mention team.
In Div. III, Garaway’s Alex Roden was a first-team pick. Drew Mullet picked up third-team honors for the Pirates while Brady Roden, Logan Yoder and Jaret Wallick were all named to the special mention team.
In Div. IV, Hiland’s Sammy Detweiler was a first-team choice. Carson Habeger was selected to the third team for the Hawks while Alex Yoder was named to the special mention team.
Girls
West Holmes swept the top honors in Div. II, as senior Ella McMillen was named Player of the Year and Lindsy Snyder Coach of the Year.
Ella McMillen also was a first-team selection while Keegan Uhl earned third-team honors. Allie McMillen was named to the special mention team while Aveona Yoder and Chloe Patten were selected to the honorable mention team.
In Div. IV, Garaway’s Rylee Putt and Hiland’s Ashley Mullet were first-team picks. Hiland’s Mallory Stutzman was a second-team pick and Joplin Yoder a third-team choice. Garaway’s Marley Metzger and Kenadi Yoder were selected to the special mention team while Hiland’s Abby Miller and Kate Kaufman earned honorable mention accolades.
