August events at the HCDPL
                        

The Holmes County District Public Library will hold the following events in August. To register or for more information, call 330-674-5972 for the Central Library or 330-893-3464 for the East Branch Library.

Doug Brown will be at the Central Library on Aug. 28 at 6:30 p.m. Attend a presentation by Brown, a professional skateboarder, author and motivational speaker. Prior to the presentation, he will be at the Deer Run Skate Park next to the library.

Kate Shumaker of the OSU Extension office will demonstrate how to make your own homemade jerky at the Central Library on Aug. 30 at 6 p.m. Registration is required.

A book discussion for adults at the Central Library will take place Tuesday, Aug. 31 at 1 p.m. The book is “The Rose Code” by Kate Quinn. At 6 p.m. “The Night Watchman” by Louise Erdrich will be discussed. A limited number of these books will be available for checkout at the help desk in August.

August craft and activity kits for kids at the Central Library or the East Branch Library are available for pickup to make an Ojo de Dios (God’s Eye).

August Take-and-Make for Teens at the Central Library or the East Branch Library will likewise take place. Pick up a craft kit containing all the supplies to make a candy sushi treat and a paper cube craft.
