Shred bags are available for purchase at the Dalton Library for the semi-annual shred truck visits sponsored by Dalton Friends of the Library. Onsite shredding by Reed Records Management will take place in front of the library on Thursday, Oct. 21 from 3:30-5:30 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 23 from 10 a.m. to noon.

Shred bags, which are $8 each, can hold up to two banker boxes of paper or up to 50 pounds. Bags can be purchased at the library in advance or while the shred truck is onsite. All items to be shredded must be sealed in prepaid bags purchased at the library.

At the shred days, a Reed employee will take custody of each sealed bag and load it into the mobile shredding truck. Filled, prepaid bags also may be taken to the Reed facility at 2730 Akron Road, Wooster, weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. or by calling 330-601-0717 to make an appointment for drop-off.

Shred truck days are sponsored each spring and fall by Dalton Friends of the Library to raise money for special library projects. Dalton FOL President Melody Snure said proceeds from the spring shred truck funded a portable sound system that enabled summer programs for children on the library lawn.

More information is available at the Dalton Library branch, 127 S. Church St., Dalton, or by calling the library at 330-828-8486.
