Community Family Health Center is scheduling regular dental appointments for all ages including dental exams, dental hygiene, fillings, extractions, child sealants, X-Rays and referrals.

Since March 19 the health center was only offering emergency dental services due to safety concerns involving COVID-19. The health center is a program of Community Mental Healthcare.

JJ Boroski, executive director at CMH, said all individuals entering any CMH building including the health center will be screened and have their temperature taken. Individuals are strongly encouraged to wear a face mask, but wearing one is not required to receive treatment.

“Our agency has always operated at an exemplary level of care and protection,” Boroski said. “Our safety protocols have always been consistent with or exceeded state and national standards. That’s how we operated before the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, and that’s how we will continue to move forward as an agency.”

Anyone experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 should call the health center before arriving to their appointment. Symptoms can include fever, coughing and shortness of breath/difficulty breathing.

In addition to dental services, CMH also offers individual and group counseling, psychiatric services, child/adolescent counseling and case management, addiction treatment, adult case management, and primary care. Crisis Intervention remains available 24 hours a day. For more information visit www.cmhdover.org.

The health center is located at 204 S. Bellevue Ave. in Dover. To schedule a dental appointment, call 330-365-1781.

CMH and the health center accept Medicaid, Medicare and private insurance. A sliding-fee scale (self-pay) is available for those who may not be covered otherwise. All ages are welcome.

Community Mental Healthcare Inc. is headquartered at 201 Hospital Drive in Dover. CMH also has offices in New Philadelphia and Carrollton. The organization offers behavioral-health, substance-abuse, crisis, primary-care and dental services.

Community Mental Healthcare services are partially funded, in whole or in part, by the Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services Board of Tuscarawas and Carroll Counties and the Health Resources and Service Administration.
