On Saturday, Sept. 18, Annie and Jay Warmke welcome people to a virtual tour of Blue Rock Station, which holds the double distinction of being the first Earthship to be constructed in Ohio and the first one to be built east of the Mississippi River. The tour will begin at 2 p.m. on Zoom.

In 1993 Annie and Jay Warmke purchased this 40-acre property in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in Southeast Ohio. They called this sustainability center, Blue Rock Station.

True to the Warmkes’ vision, the station has become a living laboratory where people can learn about sustainable living concepts and options. The Warmkes welcome interns and international groups to the station and encourage everyone to share ideas about sustainable living.

Since 2004 approximately 35,000 people have visited Blue Rock Station.

This program will be held on Zoom. Go to www.doverlibrary.org/register or email Sherrel Rieger at srieger@doverlibrary.org to receive an invitation. Call 330-343-6123.
