Goodwill Industries of Wayne and Holmes Counties Inc. held its 23rd annual Goodwill Golf Classic on July 19 at Wooster Country Club.

After not being able to host the fundraiser in 2020 due to the global pandemic, players, sponsors and volunteers were eager to return this year.

Finishing in first place was Roberts Funeral Home with the winning team including Wesley Roberts, Jarad Roberts, Justin Roberts and Devon Starcher.

Proceeds from the Goodwill Golf Classic will be used to support Goodwill’s employment and education programs throughout Wayne and Holmes counties. Donations to Goodwill are transformed into opportunities and change lives by helping people build connections to better jobs and brighter futures.

Goodwill would like to thank all of the golfers who attended this year’s event. A special thank you goes out to the event volunteers and sponsors whose giving was deeply appreciated:

—Event sponsor: The Commercial & Savings Bank.

—Meal sponsors: Wooster Hydrostatics (dinner), Dell Reconnect (lunch) and Schar Heating and Cooling (breakfast).

—Cart and golf ball sponsors: Schneider Computer Technologies (carts), Metal Dynamics and Pallotta Ford (beverage carts), and BCI Buckeye Division (golf balls).

—Prize sponsors: Martha Bollinger of Howard Hanna (first place), Kip and Becky Crain (second place), and Certified Angus Beef (raffle).
