Hall of Fame accepting nominations
The Tuscarawas County Sports Hall of Fame is currently accepting nominations for the Class of 2026. TCSHOF is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to honoring individuals prominent in the history of athletics in Tuscarawas County.
The hall recognizes the intertwining of sports into the fabric of the county’s everyday life and is devoted to recognizing and honoring athletic and support personnel who have made outstanding contributions to the county’s sports history.
Nomination forms are available at the Dover Public Library, 525 N. Walnut St., or online at www.doverlibrary.org. Minimum eligibility requirements for nomination are as follows:
—Athletes must be 35 years of age.
—Teams: regional and/or state brackets.
—Coaches must be retired or deceased and have achieved a certain level of victories that varies from sport to sport, as well as team success in league/regional/state competition.
—Officials must be retired or deceased, have a minimum of 25 years of services, and have received meritorious awards from county, state and/or national associations.
—Contributors include those who have financially backed the local sports communities and those who have been successful in the high school/college/pro ranks but do not meet the criteria in other categories. This category also includes school and athletic program benefactors and booster organizations.
—Media must have a minimum of 20 years of service and have made positive contributions to the local sports community.
