There will be a Medicare Q-and-A on Thursday, June 6 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Mercy Health Center of Massillon, 2935 Lincoln Way W., Massillon, and another one on Thursday, June 20 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Mercy Health Center of Tuscarawas County, 1031 W. High Ave., New Philadelphia.

State and local Ohio Senior Health Insurance Information Program representatives will be available to answer Medicare questions. Walk-ins are welcome.

Mercy Medical Center has partnered with the Ohio Department of Insurance to be the local Stark County OSHIIP site. A free service, OSHIIP is a part of ODI and provides information and counseling to people covered by Medicare.

A Medicare options event will be Tuesday, June 18 at 9 a.m. at Mercy Hall Auditorium, 1320 Mercy Drive NW, Canton.

This event, designed to help seniors choose the right Medicare plan, will begin with a Medicare overview by Terri Gursky, Mercy’s state-certified Medicare counselor and Stark County OSHIIP coordinator. Guests also may compare the cost, coverage and convenience of several Medicare Advantage plans in one location. No reservations are required. Refreshments will be served.

Social Security, Medicare & You will be Tuesday, June 25 at noon at Mercy Hall Auditorium, 1320 Mercy Drive NW, Canton.

This free educational program and light luncheon will teach about Social Security benefits and the changes to Medicare and Medicaid that affect seniors today. This event will feature Robert Fenn, public affairs specialist at Social Security Administration, and Sarah Florimonte, community liaison for OSHIIP, as guest speakers. Lunch will be sponsored by Brewster Parke and Bel Air Senior Living Community. Reservations are requested and can be made by calling 330-489-1333 or 1-800-223-8662.
