Ohio EPA awards $312k in recycling and litter grants
Fourteen governments, businesses, schools and nonprofit organizations in Southeast Ohio are receiving a total of $312,886 through the Ohio EPA’s Recycle Ohio Grants program.
The funding will support litter prevention and cleanup programs, public education and outreach, scrap tire collections, recycling market development, and the expansion of recycling processing facilities and infrastructure.
Statewide, the Ohio EPA is awarding more than $5.9 million to 147 recipients, with more than $2.9 million designated for community and litter prevention initiatives.
In Coshocton County the commissioners have been awarded $9,600 for tire amnesty events.
In Tuscarawas County the Farm Bureau is receiving $20,000 for tire amnesty events, and the Tuscarawas County Health Department will receive $12,000 for similar programming.
