The writing prompt is “Broken Crayons Still Color: How Did You Find Peace After a Tragedy?” Cash prizes will be awarded to the top-three teens and the top-three adults.

                        

As part of the 2022 Tuscarawas County One Book, One Community project, the Tuscarawas County Writers Guild and the Tuscarawas County Literacy Coalition are sponsoring a community writing contest for teens and adults.

The writing prompt is “Broken Crayons Still Color: How Did You Find Peace After a Tragedy?” Cash prizes will be awarded to the top-three teens and the top-three adults.

The submission deadline is Friday, Oct. 7. For complete contest information, visit any public library in Tuscarawas County or go to www.tuscliteracy.org/1b1c/.

The featured book for this year’s One Book, One Community project is “Kent State” by Deborah Wiles. “Kent State” is an exploration of when American troops killed four students protesting the Vietnam War on May 4, 1970, at Kent State University.
