With election, our nation finds itself at crossroads

Letter to the Editor:

Jeremiah 6:16 says, “Stand at the crossroads and look. Ask for the ancient paths: ‘Where is the good way?’ Then walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.”

Friends, we are only a few days away from our 2020 presidential election. We are in a very real sense at a “crossroads” as a nation.

“Our country is at an ideological inflection point, and our country is being tested by anarchists and agitators who are trying to destroy our American way of life, including everything that makes our country great, from free speech, to free markets, to our shared commitment, to the rule of law,” said Tommy Hicks, co-chair of RNC.

On the docket of the DNC platform are taxpayer-funded abortion on demand, defunding police and no rule of law (unless it is their laws such as allowing rioting, looting and violence in our city streets while at the same time shutting places of worship), packing the Supreme Court, doing away with the Electoral College, open borders, shutting down our energy independence, and free healthcare and college education for all to the tune of hundreds of trillions of taxpayer dollars.

In other words we have a choice as a nation of going down the Socialist/Marxist “path” of big government or re-establishing the “path” of limited government our founding Fathers gave us that has stood the test of time and given us the freedoms and prosperity no other nation on earth has ever experienced.

The current socialist “Cancel Culture” that has taken over our academia and media and is now trying to take over our government wants us to believe America is inherently evil. They are doing everything they can to silence the voice of Conservative Christian Middle America from warning us of the historic insanity of choosing this “path” of Socialism/Marxism. There is no longer an open dialogue in our schools and many of our major corporations. Any one who does not agree with the “party line” is quickly silenced and ostracized.

According to a recent survey, “50% of self-identified strong Liberals say that simply contributing to the GOP presidential candidate ought to be a fireable offense for business leaders.”

The author Salman Rushdie, who was himself threatened with death for controversial speech, once said this, “Two things form the bedrock of any open society: freedom of expression and the rule of law. If you don’t have those things, you don’t have a free country.”

It is time for us to heed the call of the prophet Isaiah in 58:2: “And those who come of you shall build the old ruins; you shall raise up the foundations of many generations; and you shall be called, The Repairer of the Breach, The Restorer of Paths to Dwell in.”

Let us begin a movement to restore the traditional Christian values our nation was founded on, to restore the teaching of the true history of America and the guiding principles of our founding Fathers as laid out in our Constitution and Bill of Rights.
