The Tuscarawas County YMCA is launching its annual fundraising campaign to help ensure everyone in Tuscarawas County has access to community programs and resources that support youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.

Every day the Y works to support the people and neighborhoods that need it most by addressing community issues such as school readiness, childcare, water safety, newcomer integration and food insecurity.

“Throughout Tuscarawas County, countless people know and depend on the Y, but we offer so much more than many people realize,” said Tiffany Foxx, CEO of the Tuscarawas County YMCA. “In addition to being the place children learn to swim or adults go for their daily workout, we’re also constantly responding to the needs of our community. We’re dedicated to nurturing the potential of every child and teen, improving the nation’s health and well-being, and giving back and providing support to our neighbors, all to create a better us.”

This year the Tuscarawas County YMCA hopes to raise $85,000, which will provide financial-aid scholarships to local youth and families who would otherwise be unable to afford memberships, swim lessons, youth sports activities, preschool, camp and after-school programs.

YMCA donors made it possible for the Y to provide direct financial assistance for memberships and youth programs such as swim lessons, life-guarding, gymnastics, youth sports, preschool, day camp and after-school childcare to a total of 881 children and families over the past two years.
