Over 50 juried artists and crafters will be featured in the third annual Secrest Garden Fair. The free event will be held Saturday, June 8 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Secrest Arboretum, 2122 Williams Road, Wooster.

The day will include activities for kids, a plant sale, local food trucks, free workshops, and a raffle of items donated by artists and crafters.

During the Garden Fair, Master Gardener volunteers will lead tours of the arboretum grounds, giving insider information about the 110-acre outdoor laboratory and landscape garden and the over 2,500 varieties of perennials, shrubs and trees growing there. Tours will begin at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Three free workshops are scheduled during the garden fair:

—How To Garden for Mason Bees will be presented by Lee Horrisberger at 10 a.m. She will explore the bees’ life phases and how building a bee house could help to benefit your backyards and gardens.

—A New Focus for Your Lawn will be presented by Gary Horrisberger at noon. He will discuss the latest lawn research for customizing a management plan for your lawn including strategies for reducing rainwater runoff and making it available to support a healthier lawn.

—Echinacea for Ohio will be presented by Paul Snyder at 2 p.m. This presentation explores the results of the years-long echinacea trial at Secrest Arboretum. Participants will learn how to grow coneflowers, which plants perform best in the landscape and which selections are beneficial to pollinators.
