The County Line Historical Society of Wayne and Holmes Counties provides five informative, historical and educational programs each year, free and open to the public. The last program for this year will take place at the Shreve Historical Presbyterian Church, 343 N. Market St., Shreve, on Oct. 16 at 1 p.m. when Christopher Montsilos of Shreve will speak on seasonal lighting.

Montsilos' presentation will tell of holiday lighting from the 1920s to present, changes such as brass bases to aluminum, candelabras in series and parallel, miniature lights through the '50s and '60s, and about all the major companies.

Montsilos also will have handouts and his own personal display. He has been collecting since he was 10. His parents bought him a light set at age 6 and took him to Nela Park in Cleveland, which is the headquarters of General Electric.

Montsilos is a graduate of Ohio State ATI with a degree in nursery and landscaping management. He has his own business, Cascade Seasonal, offering services of turf, tree and shrub care, seasonal color, seasonal pruning, holiday lighting, and personal gardening. In his spare time he drives the tractor and caboose for Pine Tree Barn on holiday weekends and helps with Christmas in Shreve.
