Holmes County library events slated for November
The Holmes County District Public Library has events and programs scheduled for the month of November.

November Craft Kit for Teens — Available at the Central Library or East Branch. Pick up a craft kit, with supplies, to make a “Bloomin’ Apple” in the oven or air fryer.
The Friends of the Library Booksale – Tuesday, Nov. 1 during regular business hours at the Central Library. This is the last day to stop by the Central Library and browse the used books and materials available, with prices posted. There is something for everyone.
Storytime! at the East Branch — Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m., Nov. 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30. Children ages 2-5 with an adult are invited to join for stories, activities, and songs.
Storytime! at the Central Library — Fridays at 10:30 a.m., Nov. 4 and 18. Kids ages 2-5 with an adult, are invited for stories, activities, and songs.
2-Day Hunter Education Course — Saturday, Nov. 5 and 12 from 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Central Library. Join certified volunteer Pat Lang for this 2-day hunter education course that will prepare first-time hunters to obtain a hunting license. Materials will be provided. Registration is required and space is limited.
Fall Craft Night — Tuesday, Nov. 8 at 6 p.m. at the Central Library. Grades 1-6 can join for crafts, a story, and fall refreshments. Registration is required.
Teen Movie Night & Drawing Event — “Nightmare Before Christmas” (PG), Thursday, Nov. 10 from 5-6:30 p.m. at the Central Library for ages 12-18. Movie on the big screen, and drawing the characters. Pizza and drinks are provided and henna tattoos offered. Participants are eligible to win a themed gift basket. Registration is required.
East Branch Open House – Friday, Nov. 11 from 6-8 p.m. at the East Branch. Color a wooden Christmas ornament or scratch off an ornament, and take home a Christmas tree activity packet, while enjoying the Walnut Creek Tree Lighting event.
Paws to Read – Saturday, Nov. 12 from 11 a.m.-noon at the Central Library. Kids will read to a licensed therapy dog from Caring Therapy Canines.
Take Charge of Your Diabetes – Tuesday, Nov. 15 at 6 p.m. at the Central Library. Kate Shumaker, OSU Extension Services Educator, will share recipes and lifestyle changes regarding those with diabetes. Registration is required.
Reindeer Games – Saturday, Nov. 19 from 2-4 p.m. at the Central Library. Usher in the holiday season with this after-hours program featuring live reindeer, Santa, goodie bags, games, crafts, photo ops, and a holiday Story Walk.
Christmas Craft for Adults — Monday, Nov. 21 at 6 p.m. at the Central Library. Create a unique Christmas tree on canvas using ornaments and hot glue. Registration is required.
Lego Building Challenge – Monday, Nov. 28 from 5:30-6:45 p.m. at the Central Library. Ages 6-12 can join for some LEGO building fun. LEGOs and ideas are provided.
