The Holmes County District Public Library has events and programs scheduled for February.

                        

The Holmes County District Public Library is holding the following events and programs in February. Call the library at 330-674-5972 for more information or to register for any of these events:

—February is “Love your Library” month. Each time you visit the East Branch or Central Library during February, you may enter a drawing for an Amazon Fire tablet. Visit often to discover all there is to love about your local library.

—February Craft Kit for Teens, available at the Central Library or East Branch. Pick up a craft kit containing supplies and instructions to craft Valentine’s Day-themed bath bombs.

—Storytime! at the East Branch, Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m., Feb. 1, 8, 15, 22. Ages 2-5 with an adult are invited to join us for stories, activities and songs.

—Storytime! at the Central Library, Fridays at 10:30 a.m., Feb. 3, 10, 17, 24. Ages 2-5 with an adult, are invited for stories, activities and songs.

—Paws to Read, Saturday, Feb. 11 from 11 a.m. to noon at the Central Library. Kids are invited to read to a licensed therapy dog from Caring Therapy Canines.

—The Holmes County Friends of the Library Meeting, Tuesday, Feb. 14, 1 p.m. at the Central Library. All Friends of the Library are encouraged to attend meetings to continue to help promote quality library services through support and fundraising. Not a member? Stop by and see what the Friends are all about.

—STEAMKids Club, Tuesday, Feb. 14, 6 p.m. at the Central Library. Ages 8-14 will explore science, technology, engineering, art and math through fun, hands-on activities and will create a light-up card or picture. Registration is required.

—Family Movie Matinee, Saturday, Feb. 18, 11 a.m. at the Central Library. Showing on the big screen, this animated movie tells the story of one 12-year-old’s dream to become the world’s greatest supervillain with the help of his loyal and bright yellow assistants. Bring a comfy chair or blanket, snacks, a drink and enjoy the show. Children must be with an adult. Call the library for the movie title, rated PG.

—Kitchen Capers with Kate!, Tuesday, Feb. 21, 6 p.m. at the Central Library. If you’re looking for a recipe refresh, join OSU Educator Kate Shumaker as she explores traditional cookbooks and fiction book series that incorporate recipes. Registration is required.

—LEGO Building Night, Monday, Feb. 27 from 5:30-6:45 p.m. at the Central Library. Ages 6-12 can join us for some LEGO building fun. LEGOs and ideas are provided.

—Book Discussion for Adults, Tuesday, Feb. 28 at 1 p.m. at the Central Library, discussing “The 2nd Mrs. Astor” by Shana Abe, and at 6 p.m. at Jitters Coffee House, discussing “The Last Thing He Told Me” by Laura Dave. Books are available to borrow at the Central Library.
