Tuscarawas County Homemakers spring luncheon was held April 19. The Tuscarawas County Homemaker of the Year, Elaine Clark, left, and Homemaker Family of the Year, Stacy Hardin and Cathy Hardin, were announced during the event.

                        

The Modern Homemakers hosted the 82nd annual spring luncheon of the Tuscarawas County chapter of Ohio Homemakers and Community Education. This year’s banquet theme was "The Good Old Days."Guest speaker Eileene Welker shared pictures and memorabilia from days gone by. Reflections also were shared by Gloria Jones and Barb White.  

The program included recognition of the 2018 Tuscarawas County Homemaker of the Year, Elaine Clark, who has been involved in the Winfield group, serving as their vice president and assistant treasurer.

Clark regularly participates in local meetings and Homemaker promotional activities. She was presented with a wooden plaque painted by local artist Stacey Jackson that features contributions to her community and family as well as her hobbies.

Also recognized was the Cathy and Stacy Hardin family, the 2018 recipient of the Tuscarawas County Homemaker Family of the Year award. Both are members of the Winfield Homemakers. A reception for the family will be held at a later date. The Hardins were presented with a family wall hanging created by local artist Marcie Dryden.

Members brought homemade items and photographs for the Cultural Arts and Family Life Photo contests. Winners are eligible to compete in the state competition this fall and are as follows:
