Sixty women attended the Networking Empowers Women Mini Conference on June 3 at Quailcrest Farm in Wooster.

Brooke Winkler of Engaging the Spirit started the day off with a mindfulness activity. She helped attendees center themselves for a day of personal and professional development.

Keynote speaker Ashleigh Best, the interim director of career planning at The College of Wooster, led participants through exercises to explore their personal values. She advised them not to apologize for what they value in life.

“The time together at the NEW Mini Conference allowed local woman leaders to connect and explore what they truly value, who they are, what they want and how they want to thrive in this world — unapologetically.” Best said. “The positive energy in the room was palpable. I was honored to be a part of this experience.”

Angie Giltner encouraged the women to wake up each morning and determine they will have a great day, that it’s a choice everyone gets to make each day.

“If you’re not your best self,” Giltner said, “you won’t be the best version for those in your world.”

Rachel Shepard, founder and CEO of LonaRock, discussed using LinkedIn.

“It was so refreshing and uplifting to be a part of an ever-growing group of women balancing life, work and future goals,” Ashley Pagniano of Commercial Savings Bank said. “I truly enjoyed getting to connect with fellow ladies at the event and learn some insight for success and growth. The best part of the day were the breakout sessions and questionnaires that helped us work out difficult answers to questions catered to finding our true purpose.”

The NEW Mini Conference was coordinated by the Orrville Area Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by FemCity and Giltner, Fempire certified master coach. Women interested in networking with other women in leadership positions for personal and professional development are invited to participate in the NEW Roundtables.
