The Field of Honor is a project started five years ago by the Orrville Exchange Club. This Memorial Day there were 115 flags flown in honor of those who have served in the military and as first responders.

America has a lot to be proud of and even more to be thankful for. In one small way the Field of Honor in Orrville, located just south of the fire station on Crown Hill Road, is a display for that very idea.

The Field of Honor is a way for anyone to show their appreciation to all who help keep us safe. The project began for all military and first responders, regardless of whether they are active or retired, living or have passed away, local or from far away, as a way to show appreciation for those honored.

This project was started five years ago by the Orrville Exchange Club, and the community has embraced it and has shown steady increases in support. This Memorial Day there were 115 flags flown, and there is still time to sponsor additional flags for the week-long display for Veterans Day in November.
