Showmen of Celebrities Aug. 13 at Holmes Fair
The Holmes County Junior Fair’s board will host its second annual Showmen of Celebrities on Saturday, Aug. 13 at 2 p.m. during the fair at Harvest Ridge.
In this contest six community leaders will demonstrate their livestock showing skills in the large arena. Some are brushing up on their skills from showing in their youth while others will be entering the livestock show ring for the first time.
Participants include Dr. Kaila Dunn, dentist at Millersburg Family Dentist; Dave Hall, Holmes County commissioner; Zac Morris, public accountant with Rea and Associates; Keith Troyer, Habrun’s Insurance; Sean Warner, Holmes County judge; and Josh Wengerd, West Holmes Middle School teacher.
All will take a turn showing a market steer, dairy steer, market hog, boer goat, market chicken and horse. Prizes will be awarded to the grand and reserve champion. Audience members will have a chance to vote for their favorite showmen by donating money to the participants’ selected charities.
