Dover Public Library to host Vitalant blood drive May 30
The Dover Public Library, in partnership with Vitalant, will host a community blood drive Friday, May 30 from 12:30-3:30 p.m. at the library, 525 N. Walnut St. The drive is part of the library’s ongoing effort to support public health and provide essential services to the community.
According to Vitalant, someone in the U.S. needs a blood transfusion every two seconds, making consistent donations vital to patient care and emergency preparedness. All donors at the Dover drive will receive a Memorial Day Blood Type House T-shirt through the Donor Rewards Program and will be automatically entered for a chance to win a vacation package to Universal Orlando Resort.
Participants are asked to eat prior to donating and to bring a photo ID and a list of any medications they are taking. While walk-ins are welcome, appointments are recommended to ensure a smooth experience and to earn reward points.
