New Phila sees 11 new COVID-19 cases
                        

A total of 11 more cases have been reported to the New Philadelphia City Health Department today, April 30 and five new cases yesterday. A total case count of 25 New Philadelphia residents only while there were 21 in the last week. The 25 positives are included in the Tuscarawas County total positive count of 77 reported today.

This rising number of positive cases in the city is of great concern for the health and well-being of all residents.

The New Philadelphia City Health Department staff is working to identify any close contacts of these residents who would require testing, monitoring for symptoms of COVID-19 and placed in quarantine. Out of respect of privacy of all our patients, we will not release any other personal information than given here in this release.

NPCHD along with Tuscarawas County Health Department, hospitals, health care providers and community partners have continuously prepared for cases of COVID-19 in the community.

Residents are urged to heed Governor DeWine and director of health, Dr. Amy Acton’s orders to stay home unless you provide an essential service listed in the order.

-Wash your hands frequently, use hand sanitizer only if soap and water is not available.

-Cover your mouth and nose when you sneeze and cough with something other than your sleeve.

-Stay home when you are sick.

Clean and disinfect surfaces that are frequently touched.
