The Health Resources and Service Administration has recognized Community Family Health Center as being in the top 10% of health centers in the nation.

HRSA awarded the health center with more than $61,000 to continue enhancing accessibility and quality of the agency’s primary care, dental and behavioral health services.

The health center, a program of Community Mental Healthcare, has been recognized as a leading health center every year since opening in 2015. Each year the agency must submit comprehensive data that is analyzed by HRSA. Of the six possible areas of evaluation, the health center received recognition in four categories: Quality of Care/Health Center Quality Leader Award, Access Enhancer Award, Health Disparities Reducer Award and Advancing Health Information Technology for Quality Award.

“Recognition at this extraordinary level is the result of our providers and staff showing unwavering compassion and dedication toward the health of our community,” said J.J. Boroski, executive director of Community Mental Healthcare. “This year has produced many challenges for the healthcare industry. Not only did our agency excel, we overcame unprecedented obstacles and became an even stronger asset to our community.”

HRSA requires the funding to be invested in projects that continue enhancing quality services. CMH has utilized past funding for upgrading medical equipment, enhancing use of health technologies, and improving patient engagement and education initiatives. Planning for current funds is in process.

Located at 204 S. Bellevue Ave. in Dover, the health center provides primary care, dental care and medication-assisted treatment.

Community Mental Healthcare and Community Family Health Center offer comprehensive, integrated and accessible healthcare services to all local residents including behavioral health, substance-abuse services, family medical and dental.

With over 50 years of service to the community, Community Mental Healthcare Inc. is headquartered at 201 Hospital Drive in Dover. CMH also has offices in New Philadelphia and Carrollton. The organization offers behavioral health, substance abuse, crisis, primary care and dental services.

Community Mental Healthcare services are partially funded, in whole or in part, by the Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services Board of Tuscarawas and Carroll Counties and the Health Resources and Service Administration.
