Parents and caregivers of local school athletes are invited to make an appointment to participate in the Tuscarawas County Health Department’s Sports Physical Days Mondays and Tuesdays, June 13 and 14 from 8 a.m. to 3:20 p.m.

During these days, sports physicals will be provided for $40, payable by cash, check, debit or credit card. Appointments can be made by calling 330-343-5555 ext. 174 or 181.

During the Sports Physical Days, back-to-school immunizations also will be offered at an additional charge. Immunization fees will be billed to medical insurance or be charged a $21 administration fee per vaccine for those who are income-eligible.

Athletes age 18 and younger who cannot attend may call to request a sports physical appointment for an alternate day at the same $40 fee. To avoid unnecessary crowding in waiting areas, it is asked that only one parent or guardian attend the sports physical appointment with the athlete. Additionally, all athletes are asked to bring their school’s physical forms to the appointment.

“Our medical services team is looking forward to helping local athletes get their required physicals so that they can safely participate in school sports events,” said Amy Kaser, director of nursing at the Tuscarawas County Health Department.
