Akron Children’s Hospital is partnering with Health Heroes Inc. to offer students and staff of Wooster City School District the opportunity to receive the flu vaccination on-site during the school day including all alternative sites on Friday, Oct. 9 or Monday, Oct. 12. A schedule for both dates will be shared as it is made available.

Any staff member or student that has a signed consent form will be vaccinated whether they have insurance or not. No student will be turned away. In addition, staff can be vaccinated whether they have insurance or not. There is no out-of-pocket expense to either students or staff. The convenience to having the flu clinic based on-site in WCS school buildings benefits staff and students as they do not have to leave work or school, pay a co-pay or even have a balance after insurance is billed.

Consent forms will be sent home with each student and will be available in building main offices. A link also is available on the district website at www.woostercityschools.org. The consent form is the same for both students and staff. Staff will fill in their information under the student section. If you should have questions on whether or not to receive the vaccine, there is a phone number to call and speak with the professionals at Health Heroes Inc.
